Insurance
Every TakeOff rental includes baseline liability coverage that meets South Carolina state minimums. Renters are responsible for damage to the vehicle up to the security deposit unless an optional protection plan is purchased.
What's included
All rentals come with state-minimum liability coverage for bodily injury and property damage to third parties while the vehicle is operated in accordance with the rental agreement.
Renter responsibility
Without an optional protection plan, the renter is financially responsible for any damage to the vehicle, loss of use during repair, and any deductible owed to a third-party insurer. We will first apply your security deposit toward these costs.
Optional protection plans
We offer optional Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) at checkout. CDW reduces your out-of-pocket damage responsibility; SLI raises liability limits above the state minimum. Coverage details are provided before booking is confirmed.
Personal auto insurance & credit cards
Many personal auto policies and premium credit cards extend coverage to rental vehicles. Check directly with your insurer or card issuer before declining our protection — we cannot verify coverage on your behalf.
